Kerala State Disaster Management Authority

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority was formed in 2007 as stipulated in the National Disaster Management Act, 2005. It is a ten member, non-autonomous, statutory body with the Chief Minister as the Chairperson and the Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management as the Vice Chairperson. The administrative matters of the authority is dealt by the five member State Executive Committee chaired by the Chief Secretary. District Disaster Management Authorities have also been formed as stipulated in the Act with District Collector as the Chairperson and District Panchayath President as the Co-Chairperson.
