Implementation Arrangements:
NDMA is responsible for overall management and co-ordination of the Project. A Project Management Unit (PMU) is set up at NDMA for this purpose headed by Project Director and having administrative staff and other expert and specialist will relevant experience. Similarly A Project Implementation Units (SPIU) is set up under the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Govt. of Kerala for implementation of various components of the project.
A Project Steering Committee headed by Secretary NDMA has been set up at the National level (Ann. I) to oversee the implementation and for overall monitoring of the Project. Another committee headed by Secretary (Home) Govt. of India known as Project Oversight Committee has been set up (Ann. II) for inter-ministerial co-ordination of the Project.
Project Steering Committee headed by the Chief Secretary of the State, have also been set up for effective monitoring of the project and looking into and solving the inter-departmental and co-ordination issues.
Organogram of the SPIU, NCRMP-Kerala
Principal Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management, Govt. of Kerala hold the position of State Project Director (SPD) of the Project. A State Project Manager (SPM) is appointed to co-ordinate and control the Project Implementation Unit. State Project Implementation Unit have functional and management teams comprising Construction Manager, Procurement Specialist, Financial Officer, Environment & Social Specialist, State Community Mobilizer, Local Community Mobilizers and support staffs.
